The best version of you

I would like to talk a little about something that can help us and make us able to follow our passion. It may not always be as simple as saying ‘I am going to do this now’ – we may have to set up the possibilities ourselves. The following way of doing it is just my way of looking at it. It all starts with self-awareness, which means that you have a choice in everything. Some people may not be aware that going with the flow is a choice as well as going against the flow or simply another direction. If the result is not how they please they will often grumble about it. In reality, they are only grumbling about their own poor decision. This is closely linked to how some people may believe that they cannot change and become better. I believe this is just a misunderstanding; they do not have to change into someone else, but simply become a better version of themselves.

Once you are aware that you always have a choice, you can start your self-development and strive for self-perfection – the journey to become the best version of you. Why do all this in the first place? I can only answer on my own behalf. I spend a lot of time every week on self-development as it allows me to chase my passion, doing what I love and doing what I love makes me happy. I do it for happiness – which not only good for me, but for everyone around me. To me doing anything else than this, is not fair for me nor fair for all those around me.

One way of improving is by changing habits to the better. We all have some habits that are not good for us, but we still keep doing it. These habits can be changed once you are aware of them. A habit can be changed little by little and it won’t feel as such a big turnaround. Another way is setting challenges for yourself. I set a few new challenges for myself every month. Too many challenges at a time will feel overwhelming and most likely give the opposite result of what you wanted.

Some examples of different challenges I have set myself are ‘Vegan for a month’, ‘Run a marathon in less than 4 hours’, ‘Wake up at 5am every day’ and ‘Read a new book every month’. By doing these challenges I have now incorporated them in my life – I only cook vegan food for myself, I love running and I do it often, I wake up early every day and get more done during the day and I still read a book every month.

All this helps me to become the best version of me and I hope this post can inspire you to become the best version of you. Feel free to ask questions about all of the above in the comments below.
