What is fashion to you?
Fashion is unique to each individual, and everyone has a certain understanding of the term. Fashion to me is the way you choose to express yourself through the way you dress. How you dress says something about who you are, or maybe who you want to be.
Do you care as much for interior design as you do for fashion?
No, I don’t, actually. I do care about it, but I think I’m too lazy when it comes to interior design. I buy the things I need, and put them where I want them to be, and that’s pretty much it. Of course I do care about it to some extent, but Sidsel is the most passionate one about interior design when it comes to our home for sure.
If so, is there any connection between how you decorate your home and your clothing style?
I like my clothes to be minimalistic without being boring or impersonal. I think the same goes for the way I decorate my home. I don’t want it to look like everyone else’s home, but I don’t want it to stand out completely from everything else either.
When did you and Sidsel start blogging together and why?
I started a blog in 2009 just to try it out, really. I read a lot of blogs at the time and thought it would be fun to start a blog myself. After a few months Sidsel joined in, and we renamed the blog to “sidseloglasse”. The rest is history!
What is your greatest passion and why?
I’m not sure I have one great passion. I like taking pictures, I like fashion, I like music, I’m starting to take more interest to art. But I couldn’t single out one thing and call it my greatest passion. Right now, Sidsel is the person I’m most passionate about and she will be for a long time to come.
Have you always been dreaming about working in the fashion industry?
Not really, no. I love fashion and I think the industry is very exciting. But the idea of working in it and actually working in it are two different things. There are both good and bad things about it.
How has blogging had an affect on your career?
I’ve gotten to meet a lot of cool and sweet people through the blog and I’ve gone on many fun trips with Sidsel that the blog allowed us to go on. It also adds a little extra to our relationship that we have this little project together. Career-wise it has given me some experience and some benefits because of that experience.
What is your goal in life?
Just being happy with what I do for a living. Pretty simple. I wouldn’t mind having my own company and being my own boss one day.
How do you believe a gentleman shall or can appear and behave today opposing the old fashioned way?
I’m actually a little tired about the ‘gentleman’ term. I feel like it’s being overused these days. Treat others the way you want to be treated and don’t tell others how to be a “real” man. There is no such thing as a real or a wrong kind of man. Everyone should get to be the kind of man they want to be and not live up to some expectations made up by others.
