My name is Viktor Sylvester Rasmussen, also known as @viktorsylvester on Instagram, and I’m going to give a quick guide to some of my favourite places in Copenhagen and some green-areas not far away from Copenhagen.
The first place I chose is a bit of a touristy spot, but there’s a very good reason for that! The area surrounding Amalienborg is definitely one of my favourite places in the city to go for a walk. The architecture is outright beautiful and the photo opportunities are almost endless!
Next up is Bellevue Beach. It’s located in the Northern outskirts of Copenhagen and isn’t more than a 30-minute bike ride away. The place is ideal for bathing (of course) but also for bringing a couple of beers and enjoying the sunset during summertime. The iconic Arne Jacobsen lifeguard tower makes the beach extremely photogenic. One of my favourite beaches for sure.
Nørrebro is one of the places that made me fall in love with Copenhagen as a teenager. I think the first time I discovered just how nice Nørrebro is, was during the Distortion festival in 2011. Everything seemed so vibrant and unlike anything I had ever experienced before. After a couple of years of frequently visiting Nørrebro (even attending attending two different schools there), this place still manages to sweep me off my feet from time to time.
Hareskoven is ideal for me when it’s either snowing or during autumn. It’s not especially far away from the city center and is definitely worth the 30-minute travel time. A perfect green get-away.
Last but not least is Kalvebod Fælled. This gem is only 15 minutes away from Nørreport by metro. Which is quite crazy because there are literally sheep and horses running around! One of the best decisions I ever made in the time I’ve been active on Instagram, was when some friends and I decided to get up at 3.30 to go there. We were greeted by fog and beautiful light!
